Field Day

So a few weeks back my school had a field day. It was scheduled on the same day that I scheduled my first student English club meeting, but that’s a can of worms I don’t much feel like opening right now. Suffice it to say that the same sort of interruptions have been ongoing since then…

Anywho, back to the field day. It was my school, which is public, vs a private school from within the cluster. There was a guys’ volleyball match and a girls’ football match. The eighth graders I’ve been working with were the players. They were stoked to have me out to support them.

Oh, we won both matches.

Same kid, again.

Same kid, hitting the ball back after it was kicked to him, which is allowed in Ethiopian vball.

This didn't turn into a goal, but it was the most exciting thing I saw in nearly all of that game.
